BACK COUNTRY TOURING
Hop in your vehicle and discover the Canadian back country on skis! From Vancouver or
Calgary, it's a short drive to winter wilderness experiences. Rent snow shoes, and head
out on your own. They are fun and easy to use. From beginner to expert, there is an
area that's just right for you, and with your own rental vehicle, you are free to explore
at your own pace.
DOG SLEDDING
You can discover the fun of traveling by dog sled throughout Western Canada. Some
of the areas providing tours include Banff, Canmore, the Cariboo, the Kootnenays
and Northern British Columbia. We can arrange tours for you in advance,

ICE SKATING
Lace up your skates and enjoy our winter waterways! Many of our towns and villages have
open air rinks, where our future hockey stars learn their skills. Clear off the snow and

Canadians celebrate winter in wonderful ways! Experience our winter festivals, with
fun and entertainment for everyone, including ice sculpture, winter sports, music
and lots of food! Our cities are filled with restaurants providing all kinds of food
from fine dining to family fare. You'll enjoy discovering our multicultural side,

our entertainment - theaters, opera, live performances by top artists and winter

WINTER SPORTS
Calgary was home to the 1988 Winter Olympics, and many of the facilities provide
the venue for winter competitions including ski jumping, luge, speed skating,
bobsledding and cross country ski racing. Whistler/Blackcomb and Lake Louise
have world cup alpine ski events throughout the winter. Vancouver/Whistler
will be hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics.
NHL Hockey / NBA Basketball
Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton have NHL Hockey throughout the winter (Canucks,
Flames, and Oilers respectfully).Seattle is a short 3 hour drive away to
see the NBA Supersonics and the NFL Seahawks. Let us arrange a tour including
tickets to some of the big league games.
